Maple Madness Sturbrige Common, March 13, 2010

Has been postponed until April.
The Pancake Breakfast will still be held.
All other activities will be rescheduled to coincide with
the Duck Race and River Run in April.

Come and celebrate with us the flavour of maple.
The Copper Stallion, Savoir Donner and the Sturbridge Country Inn
have organized an event that we hope to bring people to the area and learn about the New England tradition of maple-sugaring. We'll have maps of local maple sugar farms giving tours and plenty of local maple syrup, sugar and candy.

We have a pancake breakfast planned from 9:00am to 11:00am, put on by the Tantasqua High School Culinary Students. All proceeds will go towards their culinary scholarship.

Operation Friendship and Sturbridge Nursery School will be holding a bake sale with maple flavoured cotton candy for the kiddies, as well as face painting and a magician.

Story hours will be told with local tree lovers and a scavenger hunt is planned for the kids to help them learn about our beloved sugar maple trees.

In the afternoon local merchants and restaurants will be on the common.

A maple food contest will be held and judging will be held at 3:00pm
(Please have your dish on the Common by 1:00pm).
All residents and businesses are welcome to show off their maple creations and share with everyone. Prizes will be given for First Place and Runner Up.

Joni will be on the radio - Spirit AM - Friday at 11:00am.
More details will be in The Villager, Town Common and Southbridge Evening News.

Help spread the word. We hope to make this an annual event.
In cooperation with the Last Green Valley and funded by Sturbridge Tourist Association.
